FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who Benefits From a Home Inspection?
Everyone buying or selling a home and every professional real estate agent can benefit from hiring a professional home inspector. Prospective buyer using a professional home inspector gives peace of mind by providing you with the tools to make an informed decision. BlockBuilder Home Inspection services will provide you with this peace of mind. We'll walk you through the property and help you to understand everything you need to know to make an informed choice. It's in your best interest to be at the house during the inspection. You will benefit by becoming familiar with the house, and the inspector can answer any questions you may have. Seller If you are a seller it is your legal obligation to disclose problems or potential problems. Hiring a professional home inspector before the sale helps you meet your obligation. A BlockBuilder Home Inspector can help you avoid a lost sale by determining if there are any problems and how to resolve them. It brings a feeling of trust to the prospective buyer and may even speed up a sale.
How Long Will My Home Inspection Take?
A speedy inspection is a sloppy inspection. A good home inspector usually will take a minimum of two hours and frequently longer to perform a thorough home inspection, depending on the property size, age of home, condition and amenities (pool/spa, sprinklers, outbuildings, etc.).

Should I Be Present During My Home Inspection?

Yes. It is recommended that you are present during the home inspection. You will benefit by becoming familiar with the house, and the inspector can answer any questions you may have.
How Soon Can I Get My Home Inspection Report?
Typically, your report should be ready the morning after the inspection. In the very near future, BlockBuilder will have the capability to print the report on site. Aside from the report, BlockBuilder Home Inspections will always be available to answer questions or concerns that you may have.
Should Home Inspectors Belong To The 'ASHI'?
Yes, the (ASHI) American Society of Home Inspectors® is the "gold standard." Membership requires the passage of rigorous tests of knowledge, a great deal of experience, and continuing education on a yearly basis. BlockBuilder Home Inspectors are one of a handful of companies in the Tampa Bay area who are ASHI members. The inspectors show commitment to their profession by maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards which are reinforced through ongoing training and membership of the local Suncoast ASHI organization. How Much Does A Home Inspection Cost?
The inspection fee will vary depending upon the size of the house, particular features of the house, age, special structures, etc. However, the cost should not be a factor in the decision whether or not to have a home inspection. Inspection companies will usually give a free estimate if you answer a few questions about the property. But just as you wouldn't choose a surgeon based on lowest price, neither should you choose a home inspector that way. Weigh price against answers to these questions and your impression of the inspection company during a phone call. Then go with your gut feeling, and you'll likely make the right choice.
What Is The Availability Of BlockBuilder Home Inspectors?
You will typically be able to book your home inspection within 1-3 days of your phone call. The inspection team is very accommodating to your schedule, with availability 7 days per week.
